Description
Smoke billows up over the North Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada from the Terrace Mountain forest fire- 22 July 2009. Plumes of smoke are extremely dense, much like an erupting volcano. Ash rained down on the city of Vernon, the District of Lake Country and other regions for much of the day and continued throughout the night. The air continues to be heavy with smoke. The fire has grown to 4,000 hectares in size and evacuations are becoming necessary. "Terrace Mountain Smoke"

Amazing picture, with the glowing flames in the bottom right corner instead of the setting sun. Another great contrast. Can't help but feel a sense of danger when I look at this.
